Ordering repeat prescriptions

The easiest ways to order repeat prescriptions are:

These accounts show you all your repeat medicine and dosage and you can choose the ones you need.

You can also:

  • Post your repeat request to us. Complete the repeat side (the white side) of your prescription and tick the relevant boxes. Place it in the prescription letter box located directly opposite the pharmacy entrance (even when we are closed).
  • Request acute items on accuRx

We do not take repeat prescription requests over the phone.

Please note that prescriptions take 3 working days to process and if your prescription goes to a pharmacy, it may take a further 2 days for the pharmacy to process the prescription.  Therefore, please do not leave prescription ordering to the last minute.

Many Pharmacies are currently promoting a service known as EPS (Electronic Prescription Service). You will still have to request your medication using one of the above methods; your prescription will then go electronically from the GP to the Pharmacy.  The advantages of this service are safety, security and sustainability (no ink or paper!).

Please sign up for a pharmacy of your choice and inform us of your choice.

Online Prescription Ordering Services – Many companies now offer a service whereby you sign up to their service, advise what prescriptions you have on repeat and they will do the rest and deliver the prescription to your home.  This is a separate service unrelated to the service Local Pharmacies offer.  Please note by entering into this agreement, you have a contract with the company and any queries or problems you experience with their service needs to be addressed directly with them and not with the Practice.

If you have questions about your medicine, your local pharmacists can answer these. They can also answer questions on medicines you can buy without a prescription.

The NHS website has information on how your medicine works, how and when to take it, possible side effects and answers to your common questions.

If you would like to speak to someone at the GP surgery about your prescription please submit an online triage request here:

Medication reviews

If you have a repeat prescription, we may ask you to come in for a medication review. We will be in touch with you if and when this is required.

What to do with old medicines

Take it to the pharmacy you got it from. Do not put it in your household bin or flush it down the toilet.

About pharmacists

As qualified healthcare professionals, pharmacists can offer advice on minor illnesses such as:

  • coughs
  • colds
  • sore throats
  • tummy trouble
  • aches and pains

They can also advise on medicine that you can buy without a prescription.

Many pharmacies are open until late and at weekends. You do not need an appointment.

Most pharmacies have a private consultation room where you can discuss issues with pharmacy staff without being overheard.
